Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Ȼentiment mobile application (“Centiment” or the “App”). By installing, accessing, or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

Not financial advice. Centiment is an entertainment and information service. Nothing displayed in the App — including stock data, sentiment percentages, “BUY,” “SELL,” “HOLD,” or “YOLO” labels — constitutes investment, trading, financial, legal, or tax advice. Do not rely on the App to make investment decisions. Always consult a licensed professional and conduct your own research before buying or selling securities.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 17 years old to use the App. If you sign in via Apple or Google, you represent that you are using your own account. You may not use the App in any jurisdiction where doing so would violate local law.

2. Account & security

Authentication is delegated to Apple Sign-In, Google Sign-In, or anonymous (guest) mode. You are responsible for safeguarding your Apple ID or Google account credentials. You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we suspect of automated, abusive, or unlawful use.

3. The service

Centiment lets you express sentiment on publicly traded stocks by swiping a card in one of four directions. Sentiment is aggregated across all users and surfaced in real time within the App. Stock prices and fundamentals are sourced from third parties (currently Alpha Vantage) and may be delayed, incomplete, or temporarily unavailable. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any market data displayed.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except as expressly permitted by law.
Use bots, scripts, or any automated means to swipe, scrape, or interact with the App or its backend services.
Submit knowingly false, misleading, or coordinated swipe activity intended to manipulate the aggregate sentiment displayed to other users.
Use the App to harass, defame, or harm others; to violate any law or third-party right; or to circumvent rate limits or security controls.
Resell or commercially redistribute any data obtained from the App without our prior written consent.

5. Data usage & aggregation

You acknowledge and agree that anonymised, aggregate statistics derived in part from your swipes — for example, “X% of Centiment users were bullish on NVDA today” — may be shared with or sold to third parties (including financial-research firms and institutional investors). These aggregates contain no fields that identify you. See our Privacy Policy for details.

6. Intellectual property

The App, including its design, code, branding, and content (other than third-party market data and your own input), is owned by Centiment and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. All other rights are reserved.

7. Third-party services

The App relies on Apple, Google Firebase, and Alpha Vantage. Their respective terms apply when you use functions provided by them. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of third-party services.

8. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, ACCURATE, OR SECURE. STOCK DATA AND SENTIMENT INFORMATION ARE PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CENTIMENT AND ITS PROVIDERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, TRADING LOSSES, LOST DATA, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION — ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100).

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Centiment harmless from any claim arising out of your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the App.

11. Changes to the Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app at least seven days before they take effect. Continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, except where binding arbitration is required by law.

Apple is not a party to these Terms. The App is licensed to you, not sold. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
